When ten-year-old Brandon joins his departed dad's former cricket team, he finds a cold reception from his new team-mates, who think his youth will hamper their chances of winning the league. However when a veteran takes Brandon under his wing, the boy is given a chance to compete in the big(ger) leagues.

The story requires one main character as well as five other named characters and quite a few extras, in several exterior and interior locations. It's a feel-good sports story that also touches on themes of grief and perseverance.
